About the designer

As the daughter of a graphic artist and a printer, Andrea Plumley, owner and cake artist has grown up with an eye towards art and design. She was 16 years old when she bought her first Wilton cake magazine and yearned to be able to create as good as those in the magazine only believing that it was a far off dream. It was in her senior year of high school when she took an assistant position at the Publix bakery that her interest in cake decorating became reality. At first chance she transfered to the decorating department and it was love at first frost.

A car accident prevented her from having a long term career at the bakery but she continued decorating as a hobby making cakes for friends and family until two years ago when she watched her first episode of Cake Boss on TLC. Opening up a whole new world of cake decorating beyond buttercream, Andrea's passion was renewed and a career began.

Contemporary Cakery is a cottage food bakery shop that creates custom ordered cakes using quality ingredients and advanced techniques. We use sculpting mediums such as fondant, gum paste and modeling chocolate to create figures, flowers and a variety of design pieces.
